Having never set foot in the state I'm going off metrics I get online.
I'm looking for a free state with as much of what I love about Colorado as possible, so that's mountains, weather, lack of bugs ... that kind of thing.
The biggest problem I can see with Rapid City is that there really aren't a lot of graphic design jobs so I'll probably end up at a print shop making less than I do here, but the cost of living is a lot less there as is the cost of housing (and with the equity we'll take out of our place when we sell ... well, we'll be like Californians moving to Colorado)
