The light green helicopters are AirLife Denver.

I am a former AirLink pilot from Scottsbluff, NE and have flown that helicopter many times. There are some bad places to have a malfunction, Children's Hospital in Denver has to be one of the worst.

I gotta think that "anywhere airborne" outstrips the roof of Children's as a bad place to have a malfunction...

Not really. Many malfunctions result in just landing the helicopter, either immediately or at a nearby airport. If it breaks on a rooftop helipad, it is stuck there until fixed or moved, as seen in the picture.

Fixed wing pilots take off and cruise. Rotary wing pilots take off and immediately begin looking for places to land.

Tristate CareFlight flies out of Taos, NM and Santa Fe, NM.
