I really didn't follow the logic of the cash for clunkers program. I just saw it as a means to put more people further into debt at a time when debt is particularly dangerous.

That is precisely what the program accomplished. More credit slaves.

Cash for clunkers never came to my neighborhood... but I will say that most of the clunkers in my hood do have nice big 24 titanium, diamond studded rims paid for by YOU the TAXPAYER!!!

Not at all.... but we'll be moving soon.

The sad thing is that we moved there (knowing the area) thinking we could save some money (very cheap rent for a 1 bedroom). Unfortunately, we've just been spending more money dealing with vandalisim, roach infestations, "community" type bills, etc... Just a nasty place. We'll be moving soon.

Where in the Springs do you live BigBear? I'm a native of the Springs and the only neighborhoods I can think of that are that nasty are University blvd and the area around Chelton and Fountain known by long term locals as "little Haarlem"....

Over at the Summer Grove apartments (academy and austin bluffs area)... home of living 12 people in a 1 bedroom, leaving trash everywhere, domestic disputes, roach infestations, dirty diapers being left in pools, and over all general dissarray!!

Although, in hindsight... I know see why people love Tejano music... although it sucks that it's always played past 2 a.m......
