I wanted to start this thread hoping to get a few emails out to the .gov to bailout the unemployed. It feels like I'm the only one but now I know I'm not alone and in numbers with shared interests we are stronger and able to depend on others to support us when we are ready to call in the towel. Unemployment is a great tool for helping out those that work keep things going until their luck changes. Its not a life long paycheck like welfare and gov assistant seems like at times. Its a short term grant that is awarded to those that proved they can't work and will work again. If we didn't have it we would be a burden to our friends and family that may or maynot be able to help.
While some of you are making your insurance last longer with part time jobs and buying cheaper food like imitation lunch meat. I pondered but DID NOT act on the idea of what if I was starving and needed food? Those geese that shit all over the place at the park by my house look mighty plump. What if poached one? It reminded me of the movie Robin Hood Prince of Thieves when the thug guards were chasing down that boy for killing one of the kings deer. Would the same thing happen to me? Are things that bad? No. But it makes me wonder if it was I don't think I would do it. (and tell you about it)
Well all that nonsense aside if your still reading this I mean... I have to at least try to make things better for myself. My current efforts are not good enough I need to double them. If a kid from Kenya can win the Nobel Prize for doing nothing and become president for saying stupid things that are ment to mean different but important things to different people. Well then "Better Changes" "You can do it its alright and more hope" is going to happen to us all... if I win.
So no more feeling sorry for myself and I not stopping until the casket drops.

Legal Disclaimer: Spelling errors syntax and grammar are going to be present in the preceding rant... I could have proof read it but I didn't. I would also like to apologize for Windows Vista. It wasn't the OS I thought it would be. All characters in my story are fake and are not based on real people. Vague catch phrases are meant to distract you from real issues (like being drugged before a rape~) any success gained by them was accidental and covered under warranty for a full refund. God bless you. Good Luck.

I'm pretty die hard against government handouts, but unemployment benefits would be the exception. Why? Because we pay for that specifically in every check we get, we are stocking up in case we ever get laid off. I'm all for using it. God knows I pay an arm and a leg for unemployment insurance for all of my companies.

IF that were true, you were making over $500 per day, or over $3600 per week, or $189,000 per year. IF that were true, and you are out of money less than a year later you obviously do not know how to manage your finances. at almost $200k i would think you would have saved at least $20k or more per year, and or paid off you home and car, and any other debts. but you were probably like alot of other people, thinking that it would last forever, and if it didnt that you would rely on the government to take care of you.
i use to make similiar money to that. i paid off my house, my vehicles, bought lots of machinery and tools that still make me money. i also funded my IRA's to the max, and had alot invested in the market. i lost everything in the market in one day, $135k. i could have thrown in the towel and let someone else take care of me, but i didnt. i continued to bust my ass making as much money as i could. these days i am doing anything i can to get back where i was, including working for $12/hr when i can spraying weeds. i hadnt worked for that little since the 80's, but i made a pledge to myself last winter. "dont turn anything down", and i havent, i am not going to pull $100k or anywhere near it, but i taking care of myself. $12/hr is better than nothing, combined with cutting expenses to the bone, i will survive just fine.

"Man we are so poor I give handjobs in citypark for a nickle and I'm HAPPY to do it! but I wont use a support mechanism that I paid for."

what I did with my money... as if it is any of your business, was to support my parents, my wife's family, pay off student loans and save my sons life with insurmountable medical expenses. and there is the little issue of a cost of living adjustment and the TAXES I paid.
My Math whiz, how much in taxes did I pay? forgot that part or did it just not support your martyrdom?

and there was that nasty little business with the stock market.

Did I happen to mention that I lived on my savings for a substantial amount of time before applying for unemployment?
No... again because it none of your damned business.

well, you started this topic asking for people to contact lawmakers to extend your unemployment benefits. the door was opened WIDE for comment.

you seem a little defensive about your situation, did i strike a nerve?

besides, i thought you were done with this thread.

unemployment lasting for almost 2 years is in my opinion counterproductive for everyone, and is tantamount to welfare.

sorry to hear that your life sucks so bad, really, i am sorry. sometimes people just get a raw deal, if thats your situation i apologize.

and you want to know whats REALLY counterproductive:
    • 14% unemployment
    • Arguing on the internet
but the second one is allot more fun than the first!

and know this, when my son comes running up saying "Daddy" and climbs in my Lap... none of this crap matters.
Have a great day and we will see ya at the next one!

None of our lives suck. Our lives compared to those who wake up in Iraq,Afghanistan,Africa,Haiti etc.are great. We are blessed with family,a roof over our heads, and food on the table. BUT we are victims of recession in our country and for the most part we didn't cause our woes. I don't believe anyone on unemployment on this forum wants to be on it but we need to do what we can to provide for ourselves and our families until we can find work that meets those needs. As I sit here with my son I know I'm blessed ! I'm not as eloquent as most of you on here but that's my thoughts for tonight.

If you want government handouts (IE tax dollars) move to a different country. People that are collecting and not producing are on the same level as criminals in my opion. If you really cared you would geta job a Mcdonalds. Swallow your pride. There is always work to find it just might now be what you want. Some of us have several jobs to keep themselves afloat. It is horrible you are asking people to support you in begging like the rest of the democrats. You should move to Cali and befriend Nancy. I am sure she would love to give away more tax payers dollars to people that don't want to work.

I hope you find work and see the error in your ways.
