EDIT: I've been flipped off by people who were trying to be "nice" while disrupting traffic; when I don't accept whatever they are motioning to me. The other common one is stopping in traffic and washing someone to make a left turn in front of them. The single most dangerous move in driving. "Hey dip shit, there are two other lanes of traffic that you aren't blocking, and now I can't see into those lanes because you stopped to be nice." Or, "Hey bub, I can manage this left turn by myself like a big boy. Also, you're the LAST car in the line. Just keep driving and I'll turn after you're out of the way."

We could avoid the 4 way problems by going to roundabouts.

When we got our first round about here, I was driving the fire engine and met a lady coming around it the wrong direction. After a few years, most people got the hang of it, buta lot of people still come to a complete stop with no one coming.
Apparently, most drivers here vapor lock when confronted with a roundabout. Diverging diamond interchanges are even worse.
