Just an FYI. Jefferson County now utilizes a service (https://permitium.com/) to renew CCW permits. The cost is lower ($36.46), and it's all on-line, no need to go to the Sheriff's office. You can apply for renewal up to 90 days before the current one expires. The information says that they handled renewals on a first come, first served basis.

Time to renew using this method took significantly longer. Today, I received notification that my permit has been "issued" and will be mailed. It has been 77 days since I submitted the required payment and info. With all that, hope I actually get it before the old one expires on November 1.

DON'T PROCRASTINATE. I had 84 days when I applied and it's going to be close.
