I got my degree which is absolutely useless. Navy SWCC or EOD sounds good. Marines I'd like to get infantry with a path to MARSOC. A few more pounds need to get off the body either way.

Degree isn't completely useless... it can bump you up a paygrade (you could ship as an E4), at least in the Army anyway. SWCC would be fun for what it is. EOD ain't all its cracked up to be... might be different for the Navy, but I have 3 buddies in Army EOD, all went through training at different times and are stationed in different places, and they all say that it isn't anything like they expected, and although they love being there they all wish they had picked a different MOS. If you want to go spec ops, I'd suggest Army. Sure, Marines sound cool and all, but you'll have an easier time getting to Army SF. Don't read that as Army SF is easier; its not. Its just easier to get a seat at the table and get the opportunity to go to training and selection with the Army than the Marines. I've heard its damn near impossible to even get a spot in training for MARSOC. If you can max a PT test and got good scores on your ASVAB, you'll pretty much be able to get a shot at getting to selection if you let them know you want it.
I suppose for some reason or another I haven't considered Army much. A lot of family and friends were army. Kinda wanted to branch out on my own. I hear you though. I also heard army EOD sucks. Navy is the way to go from what I hear in that community.
Yeah I get what ya mean. The thing about the Army though is that there's so much to do, you can branch out and do something different within the Army itself. Go talk to a few different Navy recruiters about EOD and whatever else you're interested in, and then go talk to some Army recruiters (I can give you contact info for some pretty good ones that won't bullshit you) and see what you think. But yeah after doing the normal stuff you'd do to bump up to an E3 before you ship, with a college degree... I think the actual requirement is 30 credits completed... it automatically bumps you up one more to an E4, which as far as I know is the only way to ship as an E4. Doing that, you'd outrank almost every recruit in your class, if not all of them.
Ok, I'm off to bed. Hope the rest of your shift goes uneventful (being bored is better than being on either end of an altercation with an asshat wannabe gangbanger).
Later!
I'll be back on tonight. I'd really like the numbers of those recruiters. Thanks.
Sure thing, I'll send em to ya first thing in the AM. Thursdays we all have to go to the station and do PT from 4-5, if you can make it there around then you should (give you an idea of how they work from watching us and also lets you talk to the other recruiters in a little more privacy).
Just saw you're in Greeley... don't think you'll make it down to the station lol. I don't know anybody in Greeley but the hands down best recruiter I know is up in Boulder if that's a little more convenient for ya, he was my recruiter way back when and now he's a station commander at the Boulder station. I'll have to look around for his number though, been a little while since I talked to him.
By station do you mean police or guard? Yeah I don't know about the quality of Greeley recruiters. It seems they don't really give a shit.
Where is everybody tonight?
