As to Rush... you are correct Oxy will not cause hearing loss. But Rush was and is a drug abuser for more than just that. As to Oxy not being heroin. You are correct. But I did not want to get super specific. I was referring to same family meaning opiods and there side effects and addiction patterns.

Where do you get your information Nynco? Aside from the right wing hating sites that you look at, where do you get the Rush is STILL using drugs? If I went with that kind of logic, I might say that Obama is still using coke and having homosexual parties since that's a rumor in the mill as well. AND you are all knowing about the effects of Oxy but didn't want to bore us with the details - or is it that you jumped to the conclusion with no facts and acquiesced when someone who knows the answer quite well called you on it? For that matter, what left wing blog did you read that says it was caused by Oxy and not the actual auto-immune inner ear disease that he has that had actually caused his hearing loss? Just because SOME people have THEORIZED that his hearing loss MIGHT be caused by drug use, all that the Rush haters hear is "ahhh, druggie went deaf because of drugs". Funny.

By the way, I don't really like Rush all that much, I think he's a blow hard, but it never ceases to amaze me how people will just simply attack someone with no proof just because they don't agree with what they are saying.

The Daily News reported that Limbaugh's former housekeeper claims to have supplied him with massive quantities of OxyContin, Lorcet and hydrocodone between 1998 and 2002.

Lorcet -- which, like Vicodin, is a mixture of hydrocodone and acetaminophen -- has been linked to sudden and profound hearing loss in patients who misuse or abuse the drug. First in 1999 and then more forcefully in the summer of 2001, physicians at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles warned doctors and consumers of a "possible correlation between permanent hearing loss" and hydrocodone-acetaminophen combinations such as Lorcet and Vicodin. The Los Angeles Times reported in September 2001 that doctors at House and other Southern California medical facilities had identified 48 patients who suffered hearing loss after taking exceptionally high doses of the drugs.

Coincidentally -- or not -- Limbaugh turned to the House Ear Institute after he began experiencing what doctors there called "rapidly progressive hearing loss" in May 2001.

So Salon.Com citing the Daily News - my what newsworthy, credible and completely unbiased organizations you cite from. Again, the article says that it MAY have caused, COULD have caused, not DID cause. Hell, my mother told me that jerking off would cause me to go blind, therefore should I then assume that all blind people wanked themselves into that condition? Well, for people who hate Rush, it's quite obvious he pill popped his way to hearing loss. For them it's sweet victory that the right wing figurehead is addicted to pain killers and paid the price for his lavish lifestyle and lies. For those of us who neither hate nor love Rush, the medical explanation makes far more sense.

I'm not sure I can debate with you Nynco. No matter what, you turn to left wing blogs as sources for your "news", "facts", "information" and general outlook on the utopian America. You must debate with some really blind sheeple (probably wanked themselves blind) who actually believe these things and don't do any independent research rather than just take your word for it - maybe that is why you throw out these "undisputed facts" of yours.

Yes, indeed. Everything is FACTUAL from him too. How many times have I heard that EVERYONE agrees or ACTUAL FACTS AND FIGURES only to find out it's a quote from a blog. Please.

Yeah ... I've been arguing with these leftists for the better part of 3 decades ... they chant the same BS over and over in their kool-aid induced trance ... I'm tired and they NEVER seem to wake up (well a bunch did when some muzzies stole some airplanes and killed thousands, but that's the only time I've seen it happen, and half of them promptly went back to sleep chanting "Bush Lied, People Died" and "No Blood for Oil!").

So yeah, I'm with you there and I'm probably going to get more done today as a result.

I am glad I started this thread, I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the number of political threads on the site has died down considerably in lieu of ranting here. Whoever is right or wrong, delusional or not, debate is good and I'm glad we have a place for it where anyone who is not interested can simply skip the thread rather than have to be pulled into the mud on every thread they read.
