How long of a distance is the South Site, in terms of shooting? Can I sight my hunting rifle in at 200 yards there? Also, i'm assuming this is south of the FS Shooting closure, hard to tell on the map.

If you face west, you might be able to get that. Or you might have to go around the hill..

It is some sharp up and down. No brush or bad things but not something that I would try with 4" of ground clearance. If you can make it in the front road (that I have done with my TA) the other is fine.Originally Posted by brutal

i get back there with my geep grand cherokee and there is a spot you can get 500+ yards but you have to really work the park .
Where is everyone planning on camping (sorry if i missed it in a previous post), right at the site or in close proximity? Will a 28' camper fit? Or would a wall tent be more suitable? I think I've camped on rainbow falls road, or hidden valley road before and road cycles up to rampart. Finally, is there cell phone service there (ATT)?

Ground clearance is OK. 2500 RAM diesel with slightly larger AT tires, but it's so long, the breakover usually gets me. It's my tow vehicle so I wouldn't want to tear it up like I often did with my previous lighter, shorter, smaller rigs.
If I do go, and I'm planning to, I won't be hauling my 30' fifth wheel in there. Tent will do fine for one night.
