Copyright law says that it cannot be an exact copy of anothers work. It cannot also be so close to the other work of art that someone would mistake the design for the others. That is almost verbatem from the USPTO website. Do you think anyone would confuse the two?

    Because we aren't Colorado Mauser/Remington 700/AK/M-1A Shooters.com?

and then we would just have the same issues with AK.com etc etc etc....

    OK trying this again...

what if the state flag had Lugs on the C and only SEVEN lugs...
as I recall their copyright says eight.

we would essentially be removing the extractor and rotating the bolt to aling to the C Pattern.

    as in below
I altered a state flag.... instead of touching anything that has been claimed by someone else.

10 times better than any others in this thread so far.

long as it is not going to piss off any one then things are GTG.

who cares if it isn't exactly like a real bolt, the look is really good. now I think it just needs a color touch up to bring it out a bit more. also want to see one in white. even without the flag

make sure you give credit to the owners of the others you have post. but as far as your design, I really like it. I say make the primer a bit smaller. then put 5.56 coar15 or something similar around the rim. the text on it will give it any and all necessary differences so there is no question

yeah this was a crude MS Paint alteration of our state flag... we would need one of our graphics gurus to redo it...

it is supposed to be a bullet sitting in the bolt face.

Pretty sure that's supposed to be the nose of the round, the circle in the center being the bullet and the ring around it being the shoulder.
Only thing I'd do to that is maybe add some color differentiation between the bullet and the casing. Maybe not though.

    EDIT: Damn I'm too slow.

    Good point.

What about changing the perspective? The other site is from the muzzle end. How about from the stock/primer view? With "molon labe" or something for the headstamp.

In the original sticker thread, I posted your design and "those that shall be nameless' " sticker designs. Yes the are both bolt heads but were very different. Considering the not for profit aspect of the CO stickers, I really don't understand some people's agitation. Are there any existing patents on bolt head designs?

    Back on track.

Close but I think the bullet detail would be lost on a sticker.
