I'll be the first to throw in few bucks if a defense is needed. Good riddens.

so... are you saying the bible would have the him molest the molester? Also, "an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" pertains to sins against YOU, not a child- so what else could apply? Perhaps Matthew 18:6?
but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
    or Exodus 22:2-3?

The father didn't do just "what was right in his own eyes", according to the law, his actions were justified in defense of a third person (his own daughter, whose well-being he is responsible for)

Would have him call 911, and standby while she continued to be molested? Or ask him to stop (without cursing, of course)? None of us were there, so we don't know exactly how it happened.

If he had taken action that would have put his daughter's life (or his own) at further risk, would any outcome where further harm occurs be OK?

So I'd like to hear how you would proceed if YOU walked in on YOUR 4 year old daughter being molested by somebody? Then we can all sit back in our comfortable chairs and tell you how it could have gone wrong.

(I'm not just being sarcastic, I'm genuinely interested in your response- and freely admitting that we're all "armchair quarterbacks" in this discussion)

And on the topic of medals- if it were me defending my daughter, I would not want a medal, just my daughter's innocence back.

Yep really a medal. In my opinion the Presidential Medal of Freedom would be just fine.

    Here are the basics.

Awarded for an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.

This father removed a creature that preys on children from our society. We dont know how many victims there were before this incident or how many there would have been after. So yes a medal for service to his community as well as his country.

As I mentioned before I have 3 daughters and the only thing that a creature like that would have got from me is a real quick trip to check his religious convictions. He did what was right that is all.

Defense of others in most states permits the use of any level of force that the person being defended is entitled to use. In the case of rape, typically any force including deadly force is permitted to the victim. If the report is correct and the father walked in on the act, he will likely be entitled to a very very strong affirmative defense.

Beyond that, show me a jury who will hand down a guilty verdict on these facts and I will give you a cookie.

Someone once told me there are only two defenses at criminal trial, wasn't me or SOB had it coming.

    Default Scum bag

That scum bag got what he deserved! And TEXAS doesn't mess around! Remember when Selena Gomez was killed, well the Hispanic community had planed on an uprising in down town Houston. Every one was afraid that it would end up like the LA riots, so a bunch of business owners held a rally telling everyone "This isn't LA, we have guns". That was the end of that! Don't mess with Texas!

Eye for an eye is Old Testament. But the system you refer to is the Criminal Justice System...and they are usually the only ones who get any. I'd say the father was justified, having caught the sick, depraved, and otherwise worthless piece of human garbage in the act. Who knows how many others he saved from the same thing? Seems to me that Justice was served...by the father.

When a system is so broken that things like this are commonplace, I believe that anarchy is allowing people like this slimeball to continue to perpetrate their depravity on innocents...like another 4 year old. I only hope the poor child gets past this and goes on to have normal, happy life.
