Chick-Fil-A me in please...

So I guess I just don't pay attention to "that agenda" very closely, but I guess people are rallying against Chick-Fil-A because they don't support the pro-gay agenda. Okay, whatever. But now I'm seeing outright verbal (textual sorry, internet) attacks on the company calling them "bigots" and "mother you-know-whats". But let me put on my rationality and logic cap here for a second and ask "whatever happened to freedom?" I thought this was America. Our company doesn't outright support any cause that has two sides (we support Special Olympics, high school athletics and cancer causes) for this very reason. We support gay rights, then the religious right hates us; we refused to support gay rights then the liberal left hates us. Granted Chick-Fil-A could be more politically neutral and avoid all this hoopla, but they chose not to for one reason or another and now they're catching flak because of this? I guess freedom means 'freedom as long as you agree with their stance'? I would have thought that if someone doesn't support something they're free to do that, or is this not America anymore? Someone please Fil me in (pun intended).

I'm told that they're owned by Mormons, who follow their faith. They're closed on Saturday or Sunday- I don't remember which one- as part of their faith. If not supporting gay rights is part of their faith, good for them for following their beliefs. Those that disagree can shop/eat elsewhere, right?

I believe that the issue isn't that the owners are Christian, or closed on Sundays or even that they have publicly announced an anti-gay marriage stance. It's that the owners of Chick-Fil-A actively fund efforts to prevent legal gay marriage. Folks that are for gay marriage don't want their money to go, even second hand, to that effort. Hence the call for a boycott.

Yeah, the Liberals seem to have an issue with the whole religious freedom thing when its not convenient.
They are not supporters of gay anything because its part of their religion, plain and simple. Its also part of their 1A rights to speak their mind on the subject. If these nutrunners that oppose Chik-fil-a doing so had half a brain they would realize thier hypocrisy. Never gonna happen of course, since they only support free speech when it agrees with thier opinion.

Color me surprised that it's the liberals that are choosing this to get fired up about. They should just change their motto to "I'll respect your opinion, as long as it's parallel to mine."

It just pisses me off that people have to let their emotions take control. For instance:
If I were to say "I believe, as my religion dictates, that the color green is evil. I refuse to support the color green." Odds are it will be a liberal that will come back and say "You're a fucking idiot, green is an awesome color." See? They didn't present a counter-argument, they didn't present any reason why green is not evil, all they did was insult me and state the most basic and unsupported opinion of the color green. WTF? It doesn't make sense.
