I ordered mine with a 45 ACP cylinder. That way when the Casull flinch starts up I can remember what it is to not get beat up.
The worst ammo is the factory 260 gn ammo. Ugly recoil. Never again will I shoot them.
My 378gn Linotype flat points going about 1300 fps are pretty mild all things considered.

Interesting, I found just the opposite between the 500 and the 460, of course it depended greatly on the load and the barrel length. While the 460 was punishingly loud (although they are both ridiculously loud), the stock break of the 460, I think made it much better on the 8 3/8 models.
Still sold off my 460 because I just didn't shoot it anymore.
If you really just want some ugly recoil I have a S&W 329PD (scandium frame .44 mag) that feels like you are getting hit in the hand with a baseball bat with heavy loads. Its 25oz. empty and the 6 rounds of .44 mag weigh almost as much as the pistol. I haven't shot the .500 but I have heard that this thing is rougher than a .500 with regard to recoil.
It works really well for what I bought it for but its not a pleasure to shoot with mags. Its not bad with specials though.
I gotta say, for a .22WMR, the PMR30 had a REALLY impressive muzzle blast. About the same as that .454 photo, except in bright daylight. Lot cheaper to shoot, too!

Don't wanna get shot by the police?

Ok... So here's what the plan is.... My buddy up there, MileHighOutlaw, is going to get a hold of a high speed camera. Add into that the really big guns... You can probably put two and two together...
As soon as I know when we can get the camera I'll post it up. If you want to come shoot in front of the camera, bring the big ones, small ones, any ones you want. It'll be a good time and maybe we'll get some cool shots.
