So why not pay the teachers what it is worth to raise your children for you ?

Nope! I only expect teachers to TEACH. The "impossibility" that the Olympics is 3000 years old because "it's only 2012" is teacher failure. "kids" unable to give correct change is teaching failure.

While I would take a portion of the blame if it was my kids, it is the job of teachers to teach. I pay someone (indirectly through my taxes) to teach the fundamentals of MATH, ENGLISH and HISTORY. The fact that the earth (and mankind) is older than 2012 years is a fundamental.

I just asked both my 9 and 10 year old kids "how could the Olympics be 3000 years old if it's 2012". It took my 10 year old about 5 seconds to answer...my 9 year old thought about it for a minute

I don't expect them to raise my kids, teach manners and how to act in society, and I don't blame teaches when they go bad and do stupid shit. I blame teachers when kids can't read, write, do math, or know BASIC history. And more specifically I blame the teaching UNIONS when they protect the teachers that aren't good at what they get paid to do.

I agree with you on the union's and other items you posted.
Keep in mind a teacher can only do so much.
WITHOUT the parent[s] there making sure the children do their homework, study for test, work with them, or get tutoring assistance as needed, the teacher could be the second coming of jesus and still the kids would fail.
Positive reinforcement at home, instilling a sense of purpose AND responsibility in the child makes for a successful adult.
Teachers we met with over the course of our daughter's journey through school, repeated the same thing, no matter what school it was.
They were amazed that not only did we attend teacher, parent meetings, we took an active role with her education. AND were her biological parents, something rare i guess.
Something say 50% do not. They are more concerned about being their friend than parent. This is part of the reason we see dumb shit (in our minds) going on, when in reality they have no #$%^& clue.

Are you seriously asking that? If you are here is the answer.

    2 reasons-

First, the AR15 designation is a commercial designation and the M16 is a military designation. They don't follow the same numbering system.

Second, the AR15 preceded the M16. ArmaLite developed the AR15 and sold the rights to Colt. The first US military AR15s were sold to the US Air Force under the Colt designation and marking AR15. That quickly changed to a M16 designation about the time the US Army started receiving XM16 rifles.

    I read the original post.

I'm not good at telling when someone is being sarcastic, especially on the internet. That's why I asked if the you were serious. I was just trying to be helpful.
