I can't stand soccer and never have I felt compelled to create a thread to express this opinion. Why? Well, I'm glad you asked. The answer is two parts 1) I realize that while I may not find enjoyment in it other may and to crap all over something they enjoy unprovoked is just rude and 2) I have better things to do with my time. Maybe if you liked football you wouldn't have the idle time to create such worthless threads.

Weird game. Damn hard to play...unless you were raised on it. I suck at it-. Try watching Cricket? WTF is that about?

They bleed soccer overseas. People get killed for screwing up a match. We might have some gun violence here in the US but at least we don't riot and kill scores of people over a soccer match. You try sitting in the stands wearing the wrong colors in England...they kill ya or at least head butt ya. Soccer is kinda commie/pinko in my book but I still like watching Premier English football.

Nothing worse than watching a 90 minute soccer match and it ends up a draw-0/0. Imagine the Brits were not impressed with the football we send them either. The 45 to 7 game yesterday in London was pathetic.

You pretty much listed most of the reasons I can't stand that sport. You forgot to mention all the faking of injuries and pussies.

I loved playing football (8 years) but I hate watching it. I'd rather be shooting or hiking on sundays. I really do think pro sports are used as an unintentional distraction for men in this country. The type of men that could take back this nation are too busy watching sports. Just saying.

Football is a winter sport when shooting and hiking aren't always an option anyway. As for taking back the nation, just let me know the time and place. Otherwise I'll be relaxing watching football one day a week.

A little off topic but why the hell do we care what any athlete makes? Its not like we're paying them. I've always laughed at the "overpriced athlete" analogy. Football isn't just about the game. It's about hanging with family and friends eating junk food and having a blast as a group.

Is it just me or is football a waist of time??,, I rather be reloading hunting shooting or drinking a cool beer trolling the web???

I have a "waist of time." My belt, it shows how fat I've gotten over time.


For the record the NHL is not on strike, the players are locked out by the league.
