I think dad should have called the police.

Recall that we've seen plenty of fake "GOP" vandalism such as the vandalism of the DNC office in Denver during the convention that turned out to be a Democratic "transgendered" volunteer.

And don't forget all of the union thuggish behavior aimed at TEA Party people, while the TEA Party was being falsely accused of violence by the media.
The TEA party has also been falsely accused of racism.

You have to look at society and how people work a little, but yard signs have a huge effect on the average person. You feel like a loner, or an outcast if you are considering voting for someone that "everyone else" opposes. It has a deep psychological effect on the person who is on the fence about who to vote for. I am not saying that the signs change their way of thinking, but if all you see are Obummer signs and everyone out there seems to be driving around with his bumper stickers you feel more confident going with the crowd than against it. Now from a strong conservative standpoint it really does bum me out to drive through Boulder and I actually do get mad seeing all the bullshit propaganda everywhere. If I were less of a strong willed person it might make me not speak out against Obummer or not vote at all because of the overwhelming presence of opposition support. My point here is that if you look inside yourself and think of how you react when you see the signs they really do have a big impact on voters.

I think that your father should have taken their pictures and reported them for trespassing and destruction of private property. He should have called the police on the spot when he found them and kept with them until they got there to ensure that they were cited for their crimes. This is not just some crap that we should tolerate, that is what got us here in the first place.

As small as it is, it's still the concept that pisses me off. That would of been sweet if he had it on video and called the cops, and got them for destruction of property...

My father thanked the lady and drove up the road to confront them. He described them as three Hispanic females in their 20s. One still had ripped plastic in her hand. He yelled at them and told them that they had no right on his property. He also said those signs are a symbol of why Romney needs to win because people like you are an example of what is wrong with the Obama supporters. He also gave them some words about trespassing.

Either way my fellow members I know this is experience is minor but it shows some very brazen behavior. What is going to happen if Clown shoes Obama loses? Are we going to have moments in some areas of the country where houses are burnt to the ground and people are dragged from their cars and beaten just for being white? What is going to happen if Clown shoes wins? I don't see this country civilly staying together for the next 4 years with him in power. Either way all of you be safe today.

And let's not forget the "Party of Tolerance" and their fine performances at "Occupy Wall Street" locations around the country.....rape, drug use and its ensuing garbage, public relieving of oneself(on LE vehicles to boot) to name a few.

I will say the only signs I have seen damaged were all Romney signs.

Yes, the act is petty; but rather than confront them, he should have called the police. Vandalism and trespassing are still crimes.

I've only noticed vandalized Romney signs too (big one at Academy and Constitution with "Liar" spray painted on it). It happens every election.

The one case of Obama signs being trashed that I've seen was pure artistry though. Anyone else remember the story out of Texas about deer destroying the Obama signs in one man's yard? Who ever was spraying deer piss on those signs was a genius.

Should have called the police and made a citizens arrest until they arrived.

They could pick up all the trash and get some nice community service out if the whole deal.

"Neither trespassing nor vandalism is a felony."
It is if the value of the items destroyed exceeds a certain amount.

"So it's not this bullshit "party of tolerance" you just made up."
Yeah - I made it up... and I invented the internet.

I agree he should have called the El Paso sheriff, but I suspect with the response time they would have been long gone.

To balance this, KOAA (Colorado Springs) aired a Obama sign being nabbed, caught on the property owner's surveillance camera.

Idiots on both sides of the fence. Doesn't make it right, but what's wrong is saying that it's exclusively a Democratic trait.
