I've found a way to build target stands for about $1 that I use. Not as neat as those though
Always fun playing with welders!!
I need to go talk to my old dirt digger friend. He "says" he's got a bunch of AR steel laying I can have!
These are for a specific purpose. They will hold IPSC or IDPA targets. I suppose some sort of simple wood frame with a cardboard backing could be used for just about any type of target though. I'll have about $5 worth of material into each one.
On your mig Ray check your liner for the gun. Replacing it often cures myriads of maladies most of which make you think the feed rollers are FUBAR. Once you do get a felt collar for the wire, it keeps it clean plus you can add lubricant as well.
Chop saw here as well if you need to use one.

I just build mine with 2x4's. The base is separate from the frame part, the frame just fits into the base. Stable and wind resistant. Top is basic 24"x24", just mount a piece of 24"x24" heavy cardboard and staple targets to it. Next up, I've got to figure out a way to put a bunch of sporting clays on the cardboard....I'm thinking maybe I can hold them on with screws somehow.

While wood might be easier to work with, it is heavier and takes up more storage space in my garage than the ones I am going to build. Having one of them is no big deal but I plan on having ten or fifteen of them by the time I'm done.
Plus, the wooden ones won't let me play with my welder.![]()
This is what I am making for anyone who was curious or didn't understand.
