I blame the unions.
The salary cap has already killed the game. Can't rely on having those stable rosters anymore. It seems that as soon as the Avs get some good rookie talent, they're traded in a couple of months. I really like hockey, but the strike has proven to me that I didn't care since I wasn't 'missing it'.

Aren't they always on strike or lock out? Hasn't this happened every f'ing season for the past like 3-5 years? Maybe I'm just tired of hearing about it but it seems like every year it happens.
Hockey was never gone, you just wern't watching any of the college games. I actually prefer college hockey these days since there is non of the lockout/strike crap to go along with it. Go DU!
That wasn't the cap, that was cheap ownership. The Avs for several years were a bottom five team in terms of spending while the owner was taking in money, only to go buy the St Louis Rams. Now that his sons are in charge, they are spending more and trying to retain talent.

Word. My wife and I started going to CC Tiger hockey games. What a blast. DU is gonna get an ass spanking next month. Which reminds me, I need to buy tickets for that game.
