What has the USMCMA said the money would go towards? Any guarantee or promise that they'll keep a proper flag flying? Is there a light on it at night? I almost joined the Corps and have a deep admiration for those who have ever worn the eagle globe and anchor. Uncle was in the corps and a good buddy lost both hands in Fallujah. I don't see any way for a "guarantee" that they can keep a proper flag flying, but I certainly hope they would, if they have funds. You can see on the brochure that donations can be earmarked for the flag fund, which these will be.

I have sent them a letter, informing them about this fund drive. I've not yet heard back. I would like to hear from them personally before I send the funds, but I'm not sure if that's a possibility.

I just got off the phone with the president of the US Marine Memorial Association. He expressed his appreciation to our forum for all the support. I will be meeting with him for lunch this Friday. We WILL have a name plate at the memorial. My wifey just matched my donation - what a gal!

Thanks to all donors. This is really an awesome group of patriots.

ETA: I just received the check that pushed us over the $1000 mark. You guys did it. I'm speechless.
