One reason is to work on triggers. It's easier to see the contact points and stone them in place on some areas. Also you can mock up a training AR in bright red

3d printer is 2k??? link please?
okay, a cheap one (that probably cannot produce good mags) can be had for less than a thousand dollars. The printer this guy used (the Stratasys Mojo) goes for $9,900.
