SSF - What did I do? Well I served in two combat zones just during my enlistment, fired my weapon at more than a popup target at quals. I'm not a Door Kicker, I'm not a member of the Pipe Hitters Union, but I am a combat veteran. I have taken and saved lives when my country has asked and I will continue to serve her as best as I can, for the rest of my life. For I sir and a patriot, I don't stand guard in 3rd world shit holes any more, but I do serve her even today in a different capacity with pride and concience. I do not seek to subvert her, I do not seek to undermine her. I do not spew unsubstantiated drivel as if the big bad government is going to come take my world away.

Anyone who was in combat arms and did more than REMF work caries painful reminders daily.. yet again proving you aren't special. Well at least not in the sense you think you might be.

Feel free to exit the country. As a matter of fact, in the strongest possible terms and with as much encouragement as I can give, GET OUT IF YOU HATE AMERICA AS MUCH AS YOU OFTEN INDICATE! If you think either of those locals better suite your state of mind, then by all means, head on out partner. I'm sure Delphi is already working on the EotW bunker you two can cuddle up in.

I respect the service but your reactionary tripe makes it very difficult to respect the man. Oh and by the way, there are a lot of people on this board who have served a hell of a lot more than 8 years, some in combat, some not (contrary to popular opinion, sometimes the most willing find themselves unable to get into combat service or of more value in non-combat roles). Some are still serving.

I can see the focus on the political trend but WTF do gender or race have to do with it? Or do you discredit real conservatives like Sowell, Jindal, Malkin, Kirkpatrick et al because they're not white or male?

I don't disagree with characterizing current culture as leftist, materialistic, etc. but this knee-jerk separation of 'Real America' is counterproductive. Who the hell are you to say what is real and what isn't?

As far as Patriots, I don't have the job discription, but I do know this country was started over less gov interference.
This Country was based on God(a higher power than me) and Freedom. Seems both are in short supply.
