Revolver point and shoot. IN A DEFENSIVE situation 5-6 shots and maybe 1 reload, maybe

Semi. yes there's more bang for the buck. HOWEVER can she (or anyone) successfully clear a FTF, FTE, jam, IN A STRESS SITUATION ?? I see "experienced" shooters on the range freeze for that split second when their gun misfires. That's on the range.
Put an inexperienced shooter in a high stress situation , one, just 1 thing goes wrong and the gun holder is now a victim.

I have seen you post numerous times the issue of "range time" and how you have issues with a revolver, over time with the recoil etc. In a defensive scenario it's not 20-30-46 what ever continuous rounds. It's here & now, stop the threat.
For that reason alone a revolver (outside of ammo count) may be way to go. Once any shooter becomes proficient with a semi, great carry it, I do as my wife also.
What's the saying practice, practice, practice. I doubt the average gun owner does a fraction of the range time a lot of us here do. Until that time K.I.S.S.

Your analogy of range time with a revolver vs, self defense, is akin to Double bbl Joe suggesting a shotgun is all anyone needs to defend them self.

Just got off the phone with her... she is going to try to get her money back with reason that they can not get the weapon in due to there is a recall.. That is what we believe due to the conversation.. If they recant that statement and say it is due to backorder then I knew that at time of sale. Just wish there was better communication either way.. Its like pulling teeth.... if she does get her money back we will be coming.. but it might not be Tuesday due to the fact their closed Monday...

Thanks for the info and hope we cam meetup soon..

Well to put an end to this saga... Maybe... I called Ruger and finally got ahold of someone that could answer my question but the jury is still out on if they actually cared.. He said they are not having any problems with handles... G&G Guns maintains their story about the low availability due to a handle breakage problem..I have called around and found that other stores have them in stock including Grand Prix Guns as noted above.. They talked my mother into a S&W .38 Special instead @ G&G... She is not that bent (despite my best efforts) about it so I guess Ill drop it but still think there is something to the fact that she ordered pre-panick.. Oh well.....
