    Default NoCoIDPA

    Greetings all,

A year or two ago I shot a few FRIDPA matches in Clear Creek and loved it, then due to a new job I was unable to make it for a while. Finally, I have my life back under control and would like to get back in the game. After coming back here and seeing Pueblo is now not happening (sad to see) I notice that there is IDPA in Ft. Collins http://ncrgc.org/NCIDPA.htm

Question is, how are these guys/ladies? Do they run a good match? Interesting CoF? Anybody shoot with both clubs?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum (FRIDPA only) but I figured this is the best place to get an answer.

I have not shot up there but I have not heard anything bad about them. Usually that means they are doing something right. Or at least more right than wrong. Happy shooters dont say a peep. Unhappy shooters scream, yell, throw rocks, ect...

I shot at the NoCo IDPA match yesterday. Safe, well run, good people, and fun COFs.

I would recommend either club (NoCO or FR) to a member of the other that wants to shoot more than one match a month.

I'm not aware of how affiliated clubs work or of the politcal charge associated with running a club, but would there be any benefit to merging No CO and FR into a single Colorado IDPA club? I have no idea what it would mean or what possible 'benefits' could come of it...just thought I'd throw it out there since there seems to be a very, very small audience of IDPA folks in Colorado.

    Logistics.

NoCO gets Wyoming shooters I'm sure, and the FR gets people from CO Springs.

During the summer, at least the last three warm shooting days of last year, the FRIDPA was pretty full up. A few more shooters and we would have been hard put to finish up at a decent hour, and it does get a little boring only being able to shoot 50 seconds, then sit and wait, police brass (we really need more people doing that, not that I mind other groups not doing theirs, I reload and have turned into quite the brass whore), tape holes, ect. for the next hour to shoot again.

    Makes sense.

I certainly have no problem picking up cases. It actually helps my lower back, and it brings back fond memories of doing it for a penny a case at the club where I lived.
