I've been enjoying http://pigginout.com/new/ over near Kipling and Morrison Rd. I don't much care for their ribs, but the beef and pork was pretty good.

Country Time BBQ near Hampden and Federal can be good, but is pretty hit or miss. The owner is pretty cool, but his Wife/Daughters working the counter have been real jerks, so I don't go back much.

I had a couple of employees branch out and start running their own BBQ stand last year, Willy D's, but they closed up shop this winter. Maybe I will buy the stand from them....hmmm....

Country Time used to be really good. Don't know what happened. Became all atitude all the time. Food was hit/miss but could be great. I grew tired of the beat downs just to get some lunch and they
quit doing a pork/brisket mixture sandwich. One day....." we can't do that! we can't be mixin up the meat!" man o man.....that used to be a killer lunch for that neighborhood.

I think it is about 2500 West, north side of Hampden, south of West Hampden Ave where all the car shops are. By the Camera Trader sorta ?? It is East of Federal then

I'll have to Try Boss Hog. Piggin' Out on Morrison and Country Time (Hampden Frontage Road in Sheridan) are both pretty good for ribs.

It was better when it opened a few years back. Rotab summed it up, hit or miss now. I quit going because they never got their shit together. They don't take debit or credit, they don't have a customer restroom, and they only sell drinks in a can. It pisses me off too, it is close enough to the house that I drive by it nearly every day. Just as well, I'm already fluffy.

I worked near there for a while. Funny you mention "attitude". I called it the "Angry Black Man" BBQ joint. Guy always looked like he wanted to kill someone. His wife and daughter made up for his bad/angry attitude by being extra nice and pleasant. I probably only got takeout from there 2 or 3 times but it was always very good.

Can't stand Piggin' Out...worst I've had in Colorado. Only ate there once but it was horrible.

Still like Nordy's and Serious Texas BBQ (OK...in a BBQ emergency) but both are up north.

Now, for a real surprise, there's a little diner in Grant right on Hwy 285 called the Kenosha Cafe (don't confuse it with "Al's Pits" with all the yellow signs a little farther up the road). Zack, the owner/chef, made a brisket last weekend that was far and away the best I've had in Colorado...anywhere. It's a great place for breakfast and he's trying his hand at a few new things. Smoked with apple wood provided by a friend of mine. He doesn't always have the brisket but it's worth the drive from anywhere to try it. Breakfast is fantastic, too. If you happen to be going that way it's worth stopping for.
