I have heard about The Salt Lick for years, but my schedule kept me SE first after plane landed, then NE the next evening. Lot of good food down there. BUTTTT.....I just got home with a 1/2 pound of brisket from Yazoo downtown Denver. It is good. Best I have had in Denver/Boulder bar none. Kid was confused as to what sliced brisket is, " we smoke it for 22 hours so it sorta falls apart." I asked to see a slab in counter case, said I will take half of that thing, he cuts it and go to whacking and chopping on it. I said "now I will take the half that you did not ruin." I did not get anything else down there to try, brisket is my TX baseline. They are expanding the building to double its size so I will go back. There on Broadway at Champa and 22nd where they all merge. Click on photos for larger version. When they run out of food, they close for the day. Good lunchtime crowd.
