“Make men large and strong and tyranny will bankrupt itself in making shackles for them.” – Rev. Henry Ward Beecher (1813-1887) US Abolitionist Preacher

The statists always look for more ways to regulate the population. Unfortunately, technology cuts both ways and can be used to limit freedoms. Reminds me of the US patent Apple was granted last summer for a smart phone with features that can be selectively enabled or disabled by a third party within a given distance of a location. The example given was disabling the audible ringer within a movie theater - all fine and good. However, the same technology could be used to, for hypothetical example, disable the audio or video recording capability within a certain distance of an officer or police car. Or completely disable a phone under external command, say during martial law.
"Guilty of collusion"
You don't even need to go that far- what if you're out of town on business or out on the town with the guys and the significant other is home alone, criminal breaks in, oops, you're wearing your encoded watch, gun is in the bedside safe and he/she cannot use it because there is only one coded watch paired with the gun? Oh crap! Now it's just a big paper weight.Remember guys, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Besides, statistically speaking, guns are still not even in the top 10 killers in America.
"There is no news in the truth, and no truth in the news."
"The revolution will not be televised... Instead it will be filmed from multiple angles via cell phone cameras, promptly uploaded to YouTube, Tweeted about, and then shared on Facebook, pending a Wi-Fi connection."
Just what I need, another Mi$fire from Steve Ballmer. I can just see Anonymous cracking into the encoded gun network and screwing around with the security codes and biometric authorizations.
"And while you wait for your gun to fire, a few words from our sponsors."
Also....in that picture above, oddly the first thing I noticed was that clearly some artist has no idea about temperature. 98 kelvin would be roughly -283 degrees Fahrenheit.
