The statists always look for more ways to regulate the population. Unfortunately, technology cuts both ways and can be used to limit freedoms. Reminds me of the US patent Apple was granted last summer for a smart phone with features that can be selectively enabled or disabled by a third party within a given distance of a location. The example given was disabling the audible ringer within a movie theater - all fine and good. However, the same technology could be used to, for hypothetical example, disable the audio or video recording capability within a certain distance of an officer or police car. Or completely disable a phone under external command, say during martial law.
