Yeah, but two of the articles I've read talked about the "gunpowder found in fireworks". They'll work any association they can. Inform me, anybody know the difference between the powder in fireworks and smokeless powder? I'm assuming the burn rate in fireworks powder is much faster?
There are 10 types of people. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
The powder in fireworks that goes "boom" is flash powder. Made up of potasium perchlorate and aluminum powder. Burn rate is extremely fast. Almost instantanious. Can be set off with a spark or static electricity. Does not even have to be really contained to explode. A bit in the bottom of a plastic water bottle will blow like a bomb. Not just fizzle and make bright lights. Talking big boom and major destruction. 1# of the mix in a sand dune will blow a crater the size of a pickup truck. (not our brightest idea) The propellent in bottle rockets and other stuf is a black powder compound that burns much slower. Has to be contained tightly in order to go boom. The sparks and other stuff i fireworks comes from black powders with other chemicals in it such as magnesium, copper, other metals and elements. In the big shells that have really cool colored sparks that ignite and glow for a long time are actually grains of rice that have been coated with magnesium or other metal elements to add the color. The rice is an oxidizer.

...snakes and sparklers are the only ones I like.
"You're gonna stand there, ownin' a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistin' bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, w/ or w/o the scooter stick, or one single whistlin' kitty chaser?"
How about we ban liberal fucking idiots?
