I can't think of any previous cases where a majority D legislative body passed something then were overtaken by R in the following election and the bill was repealed.
That does not mean it can't/won't happen. Not to sound Polyannish but it will be self-full-filling if we don't make that the goal. Personally I think that if we went to a CCW required system with protections from it being abused we could overturn the BGC law. The start of this was already proposed earlier this year (and defeated) by repubicans, had pretty wide support and could be an acceptable alternative to what we have now.
