Default Preloaded magazines (esp Ruger 10/22)

Not exactly AR-15 specific, but this seemed like the closest fit.

I'm noticing a definite pattern. If I load up my Ruger 10/22 magazines -- I have a variety and they all seem to do it -- a while (maybe a week or two) before I plan to use them, then the ammo doesn't function.

I get constant fail-to-extract and fail-to-eject. Stovepipes. Rounds that won't chamber. Etc, etc, etc.

I see this both with 22LR and 22-short (Volquartsen kit).

    Is this a known-issue?

Not a known issue that I am aware of.

    A quote from years past.

"Doctor it hurts when I do this."

    "Dont do that."

I've cycled through my mag stock hundreds of times and I keep the ready mags loaded all the time. They are the first ones I go through when I'm shooting but some times it'll be months before I get to the end of the ready stack. These are AR mags btw.

Have you broken down the culprit mags and made sure they are clean and lubricated like they are supposed to be?
