Would you buy this?

As most of you know I work for Pepsi. It's been family owned and now they are selling to corporate Pepsi. Their last act is to give us a retention bonus. Found it it's a generous bonus. Wifey says I can buy a gun, and even though she voted for he who shall not be named, she said I should get what I want before (if) he bans the good stuff. We didn't talk price and it is my money (but we all know that wives always have some say on everything).

And I do not have the talent and know how to build like most of you do. So here's what I'm looking at.

So I'm looking for opinions on if you had 2k to spend on an AR15, would you pick this one? Or do you have better ideas with all the goodies already put on.

And on the other side, if she laughs at me wanting to spend 2k on a gun and goes with 1k, what would you buy or where would you look. I don't like the round hand guards. I like the quad rails.

On the bright side at least I can afford some ammo and to take some Saturdays off work to make some shoots again.

Right now, to some, any rifle is a good rifle. But if I were going to spend 2k on a gun, it would be a Colt 6920. Then I'd buy magazines and ammo with the rest.

Then I'd buy magazines and ammo. And if I had any money left, I'd buy magazines and ammo.

The RRA is okay from what I hear. I have never handled or used one. I have handled and used Colt rifles. And yes there is a difference in quality and workmanship.

So buy now, buy often. But try to buy smart. For 2k, wish I had 2k, I'd run up the street, buy a 6920 and as much ammo and as many magazines as I could.

For 2 g's I would get a POF gas piston. Add on later. Or buy 2 RRA Varmit/coyote and Tacical one.. I love my Coyote, 2in groups at 200meter w/my shooting and handloads.
The thing that stinks is everyone seems to be sold out of everything cool. I have a grand to spend on new gun and can't find what I want.

Roger, Do you think the Colt is better then RRA? My father best friend carries Colts which I can get at cost. I've had both, and the RRA works better and is alot more accurte. The accuracy was 5 inchs at 200 meter w/ Colt h-bar. This is ONLY my experience.
I own acouple Colt single action army's and 1911's and a lightling(old),and
would never own a colt ar-15 again.
Colt's quality control has gone down, seems the don't care anymore about customers in the U.S.A. They would rather sell 10,000 m-16's to other Countries.
Yes, I know the Colt's will hold there value better But RRA's is a better weapon.

any lower receiver, upper of your choice, mags and lots of ammo, the ammo includes .22lr and some form of .22 conversion unit. you can practice all day with a dedicated 22 upper or conversion kit, spend approx $30.00 (todays price) for 1100rds of .22 ammo, $30-35 ea for BDM mags. this way you still retain all the mechanics of your Ar with a lot less invested in ammo.
i'm not a ColtAID drinker, buy expensive have less for accessories, you decide.

Oh some good ideas! Wifey saw me looking at the rifle I posted and saw the price and said go ahead if that's what you want. But the idea of buying 2 rifles with no accessories is intriguing except for the fact she said I can get one. I could use the, it's cheaper for 2 then just that one. the Colt looks good. I hate the hand guard so I'd have to put on a quad rail.
I like the ideas and suggestions.
