    Default Buffer question.

I have a 9mm AR that I built that is having cycling problems and bolt hold open problems. I have fixed the bolt hold open problem and the cycling problem is a work in progress. When I took the gun a part I noticed that the plastic tip on the buffer is getting pretty hammered up. I'm running a spacer to keep the bolt from traveling too far. The buffer only weighs 3.5oz would a heavier buffer help? Also my spacer is the old quarter trick and I heard that you can run them on the front of the buffer to add weight, what does everyone think?

I'd recommend you get a new, heavier buffer. Quarters on the front won't add much weight, but will start you short stroking really quick.
