Default Looking for a historic arms dealer

Our local scout camp received a donation of 1900s pistols, rifles, spears made of whale bone and other similar items. The items have certification letters and the camp has received permission to sell them in order to improve the camp. We're looking for a referral to a dealer who specializes in this kind of merchandise and can help the camp make the most of the donation. I would greatly appreciate any leads.

Some of the stuff you can sell on Ebay. If the stuff is really rare it might be worth paying to have it appraised. Or you could just sell it here...http://www.gun-appraisals.com/index....emplates_id=77

Do not know anyone locally that would jump into my head but thats not saying much. But if they are truly "collectable" perhaps these guys would have some knowledge. Some of the stuff they have in their business is incredible.

Another possibility is the yearly Colorado Gun Collectors Association Show that is coming up, you could make some contacts for appraisals there.

Thanks for the advice. eBay is a no-no since this is weaponry (not to mention their Commie pinko leanings) but I'll tell the camp director to check out the other sites and maybe take a bunch of pictures over to the CGCA show.

Interested in hearing more details. Old firearms and helping the local BSA is full of win.

Recommend you contact John Kelly. He is the President of the Colorado Historical Firearms Foundation or something like that. I'll PM you his contact info. He may be interested in some of the items and/or connect you with folks that specialize in these items.

Thanks, I'll get all contact info over to the camp director. I already told him to take pictures of all the stuff including authentication letters. <sigh> I'll bet the stuff is outside my price range; it'd be a nice opportunity to get early stuff but I've got to try to get the camp the most money they can possibly get from it all.

I've never been there, and have no personal knowledge of the place, but I know there's a gun shop in The Springs called Leasures Treasures. Might contact them and see if they deal in antique arms and stuff, sure looks like that's what they're all about. At least they're local to you. http://leasurestreasures.com/

I keep meaning to stop by there someday.....

Website seems to be fugged up, I suggest calling them.
