Freedom of speech? If he did it privately, maybe. In the classroom where he's supposed to have an approved syllabus and lesson plan? Not so much. They may have got away cheap but only because our legal system is dorked. Jackass who did this is lucky to still have a job IMO.

We all know rights, including free speech, aren't absolute. There are plenty of places where speech isn't protected. If you bad-mouthed your company on company time to a client do you think you'd be protected from being fired by claiming free speech?

Stomping on the US flag in a classroom in front of high school students isn't free speech...it's liberal indoctrination and this "educator" was simply pushing the envelope. He was successful because as a society we're too terribly afraid of what might happen if we fight back against behavior like this. The "victim" teacher runs around yelling "oppression" and hires lawyers to bully the school district into submission.

This has nothing to do with free speech. It has everything to do with advancing a leftist agenda.

Exactly. I would have loved to have been a student in that classroom- I would have pulled a Rick Monday... or knocked that teacher out. Either way, I wouldn't be going to that school ever again.

. Or common sense to prevail.

Had ward churchill not committed plagiarism in his books, he would have been reinstated at CU. His chickens come home to roost was a loosing battle if they used that only to justify his dismissal.
Yes it's all part of the liberal/ leftist agenda. However until there are strong nominees on the R side of things, don't expect miracles
