Most folks just rattle can regular spray paint. You can buy kits or send your stuff out and pay some big $$$. I have painted 3 rifles and you just have to tape off the sights and keep it from getting inside.

I've painted 5 so far .. Krylon is your friend. The key is to take your time, let the layers cure for a while before going after the next one. Plenty of painted rifle threads around, Barfcom, LightFighter and others.

I use Krylon because if I ding the paint badly, I just repaint it with what I have on hand. Some of the "professional" options are nice, more expensive and mildly more durable than layers of Krylon, but.. Krylon is cheap and you get to do it yourself.

Tape off the duh stuff and keep some break cleaner around if you're using Krylon, makes cleaning up the opsies really easy.
