So it began with a Google search- and no I have not read "The Blueprint" yet, but I think I should- about how Colorado became this beacon of Progressivism over the last 15 years or so. I know it wasn't overnight. I'd like to explore this and I need some help from some of you here. After the famed Google search, I sat and spoke with a like-minded conservative friend. I told him I'd like to explore how this happened, especially how with the addition of Amendment 64 the left was able to get so many out and voting last election and the right, for some reason, just didn't. He suggested making a documentary. I absolutely loved the idea, but seeing as how I've never endeavored to do this, I wouldn't know where to begin. I mean direction and all that I can do as I've done some filming and was working on an entertainment doc a while back, but production, fundraising (these things are done for free) and all of those details, not so much. My friend suggested setting up a Kickstarter to help with funding, but then there's the writing and pre-production stuff that should be taken care of first. I came up with a title (see the thread title) and figured it would help to get some big name CO conservatives on board to help (Like Chris Holbert) with interviews and insight.

Mainly the idea is to explore how our fine state used to be this very right leaning, red state, and pretty much the only place to find a liberal was to go to Boulder. Then, somehow, Colorado was slowly taken over, bit by bit, by the progressive left (not the Democratic party, the progressives, and all their evil ideas with them). And culminating in, and they do get credit for the ingenuity behind this, the 2012 elections here in CO, where Amendment 64 was the catalyst for getting the left vote to show up in overwhelming support knowing that pot heads generally pull the left handle when voting, and were able to get a democratically controlled state legislature, dem Congress people, and enabled Obama to win CO.

Any help, whatsoever, big or small would be appreciated. I have the camera, the editing software, ability to direct and the idea, just need help with pre-production, writing, who to interview/what specifically to cover, and general stuff like that.
