    Default what is this weird root vegi?

    my wife got it in this weeks bountiful baskets we cant figure out what the hell it is(dont mind the flour im making this weeks pizza dough n bagels)

    I don't eat many weird root vegi's but when I do this is the one I prefer !

    Yeah...looks like Pachyrhizus erosus to me. Also known as jicama. They're really good and refreshing. Light, crisp and watery.

    It's not the right shape or color for a Jicama (at least, from those that I have seen in Sprouts.) The shape looks like it belongs to a sweet potato or a rutabaga, but it's hard to tell the texture from this dark photo. What color is the flesh? Can you tell us more about it?
