Ya... I'm talking about over under shotguns.... not rifles. A set up $750 shotgun will shoot the exact same way a $10,000 Perazzi will. You can make it have the same barrel length, same choke, same grip, same pattern, shoot the same for all intensive purposes. The metal work, and the name will be the difference. Pretty doesn't mean better for competition though. Those people have those damn nice guns because they can, and no other reason. If the thought of having "the best" or prettiest helps them psychologically, so be it I guess. That's all I was saying...

you are still going to have to spend a large chunk of money to get a Stoger, Ruger or a CZ to shoot like a Perazzi out of the box. You can have the same length barrels, same chokes and the same grip but where and how long the forcing cones are plays a big roll in how the gun will pattern with a variety of chokes, the weight of the barrels and rest of the gun also plays into its handling. The trigger, rib, alignment of barrels, height over bore, etc etc will still be different. For the avg. person, like me, where aiming is the bigger factor none of this really matters and the gun is a status symbol but it does help for competition shooters.

There is a pretty simple reason why people who compete on a world level are not shooting Ruger Red Labels or Franchis. They're nice guns but simply do not hold up to ultra high round counts. Just about every olympic shotgun competitor is using either a krieghoff, a high end Beretta, or a Perazzi. You try telling them that. LOL

A $10,000 Perazzi is pretty much a plain jain no frills workhorse.

That is like telling a race car driver that a Hyundai will get him where he needs to go.
