I didn't follow the case all that closely in the beginning. My understanding is that they poached an elk while they were on the clock? Douchebag thing to do, but why all the furor?

Plus they are police officers operating under the public trust and lied. The public, especially Byte, will wants something done. This is what PD's do to bad cops, they punish them and fire them...believe it or not.
