When there are games like Arma 3 on the way, and free mods for dirt-cheap old titles like Project Reality for BF2 or Day Z for Arma 2, console shooters just become laughable to me. And anything that's multiplatform is so ridiculously superior on PC that it ruins the console experience (BF3, for example, is literally unplayable on console for me). I ended up selling my PS3 and XBOX 360 because they had nothing to offer me. But the CoD/Halo/Gears crowd can at least make a stand for multiplayer console gaming.

Campaign/single player games on PC are where it becomes embarrassingly lopsided. Play Skyrim with some texture and skin mods, or try out Amnesia and it'll really put things in perspective.

Microsoft's gaming division isn't going to get a dime more of my money (and I won't buy any of their computing services/goods until they make another proper OS. Windows 8...what the f*ck is this?! Okay, I'm rambling), and neither are any of the studios who decide to take the CoD route and just release map packs and skins as new games for full price. It's really kind of funny watching console gaming surpass PC gaming, then immediately sh*t all over its constituency.

I wasn't going to buy one anyway, but still disappointing.

Who gives a shit? I would MUCH rather have a next gen system that isn't handicapped by being backwards compatible. I want all reseources and R&D on moving forward

    Non issue.
-Requires you to be online at least once a day (Confirmed by VP)
Yeah, I remember when Dish and DirectTV required this over a decade ago and people freaked out. Non issue now.

It comes with it. Non issue

    Not confirmed by anyone.

Good. I'm SO sick of boosters and cheaters and they all use 1 month gold accounts to make throw away accounts. This will be virtually eliminated by this move.

I currently own & use 4 Xboxes including one that is still from launch day and have never had a single HDD issue.
-All games must be installed on the HDD
Good. This cuts down on noise, heat and load times. This is a good thing and not a bad thing.

You mean like a cable subscription and a cable tuner? Duh.
Responses in quote above. Basically people are trying to make big deals out of nothing as usual. We don't even know the full details and the interwebs is running crazy with conjecture and hearsay. At launch day if there are some crazy messed up things I will not buy one. Simple as that. As of now I have heard nothing that makes me not want to buy at least one to play next gen games on.

It's all about how bad ass your internet is for on-line play. Crappy internet = crappy in-game results. Those bastiches at Treyarch are greedy. They spent money on big $$$ actors for a zombies game mode and cool "Replacers" commercials promoting the game rather than giving us dedicated servers. EA has had dedicated servers for Battlefield for a long time and I have NEVER had a problem playing Battlefield in regards to lag compensation. I think Battlefield 4 will be getting my money. Sad, considering CoD has the largest following of any damn video game I've ever seen. You could literally crap in a box, paint it green, put a CoD logo on the side of it and call it Call of Duty Doodie and people will buy it. They need to can Treyarch and Infinity Ward, give it to someone who gives 2 shits about what the gamers want and not what they THINK we want. Jackholes.
Meh, dedicated servers aren't all they're cracked up to be. There are downsides to them as well. Your statement about bad ass online connection couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, with 'lag compensation' you get unfair advantages for having a shitty connection and the new way to cheat is to run torrents or otherwise limit your bandwidth to get lag compensation on your side. Host advantage is a thing of the past and being host actually hurts you. Crappy internet = better lag compensation than those with high-end connections. This is quite frustrating to those who pay more for higher bandwidth when someone stealing McDonald's WiFi has a 'better' connection. Search YouTube, plenty of video about this and it's the single biggest problem with this game. They next thing is matchmaking, host selection and host migration. If they're so sure of their lag compensation feature they need to select host based on how many times the person has quit out of games. I play with a pretty solid squad and rather than give hose to the best connection like they used to they lean on lag compensation and give host to the shitty players. When our team starts winning good players start quitting out one by one so we end up waiting about 3-4 times every stinking game for host migrations until one of us finally gets it so as they back out the game continues. A large portion of the time the game drops entirely which is frustrating as all get out. Also, being throw into a game where you have zero possible chance of winning (mathematically impossible) when you're on a win streak is idiotic and should never happen. Also easily fixed. Treyarch sucks giant donkey balls for countless reasons but giving an advantage to those who play a lot or have a good connection isn't one of them. In fact, the more you play the more you realize how much Treyarch actually favors the new or casual player with a shitty barely-there connection.

You'll still be able to use your remote control and as cool as the voice activation seems to be I don't see myself using it all that much as I use Harmony remotes for such things.

    You have a 52' plasma!

Ah its 50 something I'll need to measure it but it cost me only $800 bucks three years ago on black friday. I know I can use my remote but it all seems kinect this and grab and stretch/voice control that. I just want good games.

So say i come up with a spare $800 bucks. How good of a gaming PC can I build/buy? It HAS to hook up to my TV. And use a console style controller.

You don't play used games or do the gamefly/redbox rental deal? You're in the minority. Gamestop will probably lose out a lot from this deal as well.
