Responses in quote above. Basically people are trying to make big deals out of nothing as usual. We don't even know the full details and the interwebs is running crazy with conjecture and hearsay. At launch day if there are some crazy messed up things I will not buy one. Simple as that. As of now I have heard nothing that makes me not want to buy at least one to play next gen games on.
Meh, dedicated servers aren't all they're cracked up to be. There are downsides to them as well. Your statement about bad ass online connection couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, with 'lag compensation' you get unfair advantages for having a shitty connection and the new way to cheat is to run torrents or otherwise limit your bandwidth to get lag compensation on your side. Host advantage is a thing of the past and being host actually hurts you. Crappy internet = better lag compensation than those with high-end connections. This is quite frustrating to those who pay more for higher bandwidth when someone stealing McDonald's WiFi has a 'better' connection. Search YouTube, plenty of video about this and it's the single biggest problem with this game. They next thing is matchmaking, host selection and host migration. If they're so sure of their lag compensation feature they need to select host based on how many times the person has quit out of games. I play with a pretty solid squad and rather than give hose to the best connection like they used to they lean on lag compensation and give host to the shitty players. When our team starts winning good players start quitting out one by one so we end up waiting about 3-4 times every stinking game for host migrations until one of us finally gets it so as they back out the game continues. A large portion of the time the game drops entirely which is frustrating as all get out. Also, being throw into a game where you have zero possible chance of winning (mathematically impossible) when you're on a win streak is idiotic and should never happen. Also easily fixed. Treyarch sucks giant donkey balls for countless reasons but giving an advantage to those who play a lot or have a good connection isn't one of them. In fact, the more you play the more you realize how much Treyarch actually favors the new or casual player with a shitty barely-there connection.
