    Default iPod shuffle

My little girl saved for for months to get an iPod. Got it yesterday and have been fighting with it for hours. Drivers not found, device not recognized.....
Suck it Apple, suck my root! Some of the smartest a-holes on the planet and they can't (or won't) make something that I can just plug in and use. Dammit!

Hm, besides having to use itunes and converting all your music to a certain format, I thought ipods were pretty easy to use? Maybe something else is wrong?

I can't stand crApple, so I can't be of much help. Sorry.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

iPod should be plug and play. Download newest version of iTunes, add music to iTunes library, copy to iPod.

What kind of computer are you running?

I don't know what you're doing or why it's so difficult but take it over to the Apple store at Briargate Town Center and ask one of the geniuses there to show you what's wrong or (maybe) swap it out for one that works.

Are they open yet after the "break in?" They probably are, it's been awhile....i just haven't heard. Also, if you take it to the apple store, make sure you set an appointment to insure you get seen at the genius bar. If they are busy and you don't have an appointment, they will turn you away or offer you a time that is usually several hours later in the day. ask me how i know...

I've only been to an Apple store for help a few times, twice without an appointment and I think I waited maybe an hour to get to see someone. What "break in" are you talking about?

Trying to put in on a Windows XP machine. I looked on Google for the issue/fix and its a common one, the fixes aren't working. We took the ipod back and swapped it out but no luck. I downloaded the latest itunes version, disabled the antivirus, disabled the startup stuff. I can't find the driver to install it.
May have to try the genius bar thing. They were not much help last time but its a shot.

I guess somebody drove a vehicle into the store and took a bunch of stuff... a week or so back.

Ah, I missed hearing about that ... something about dropping the Gazette because they kept printing biased McClatchy and AP stuff (as well as idiots like Sirota and Horner) and not bothering with broadcast channels because of the general poor quality of their programming means I don't get much local news anymore. That's interesting ... been a spate of robberies of both homes and businesses this year with the crooks gaining entry by driving a car into the door or window.
