    Moose are definitely not to be fucked with, especially cows with young. More people killed in Alaska every year by moose than bears. I'd love to hunt them some day though. +1 for the request on moose meat details.

    Moose meat is great. Less of a game taste then elk or deer and very lean. Unlike elk meat that can taste very gamey during the rut, only the neck meat of a moose gets tough and gamey, packing all that bone has a lot to do with the toughness as well. Dad and I brought back 1000 lbs of meat between 2 Alaskan moose and that was after loosing 400 lbs to bone rot (we were pretty pissed at the outfitter for that one).
