Default Recommendations for a .22 LR Upper?

I'm looking for a good reliable (more reliable than a conversion lit) dedicated upper in .22 LR. Any recommendations? Cost is an object... I am open to assembling my own upper. Arctic had a dedicated .22 LR upper, but it was a heavy 22" barrel. Looking for something in the M4 configuration.

I have a Spikes and it's awesome. Not sure what you mean by 'cost is an issue' - be prepared for a long wait for anything. I think it's in the 8 week range now from Spikes.

Spikes Tactical Upper looks very cool... Their retail lists at $700 for the M4 16" upper.

Nordic makes an AR conversion that uses a 10/22. It takes AR stocks, free float tubes, ect and uses the 10/22 mags. Awesome AR trainer.

Thanks for the links! I like the idea of a 10-22 look a like too.

+1 on TS. It took about 500 rounds or so to break in (had frequent FTEs for that first 1/2K), but once it's broken in it is a lot of fun. You can't beat $0.04/rd.

Alan has Sabre Deffense dedicated .22 uppers.

If I was in the market for a .22 upper hands down that would be my choice.

    +1 for spikes

Spikes upper runs about $549, but for $499 (+tax) I would recommend the new S&W MP 15-22...

The S&W has working bolt catch/release, and all the other normal AR fire controls.( which does offer some advantage over even a dedicated upper). And I've run 500+ rounds through mine in the last week with no problems...

But if you go upper I'm a huge fan of the spikes.
