    Default WC-846 pulled-down powder uses?

So, I've got two 8lb. jugs of WC-846 powder that I bought from a former member here. It's pulldown powder, came from Pat's Reloading. I know it can be used for .223 and .308, but all my .223 is finished and I don't shoot .308.

Question is - what else can I use this powder for? I'd intended it for .30-06, then found out it's not suitable. How about .303, 7.62x54R, .30 carbine, 7.5x55 Swiss, or any handgun calibers?

    thanks!

It will work in a few of the calibers that you have listed. From my understanding it's pretty close to BL-C2

BL-C2 basically. I have been loading .223 with it. Better for lighter rounds, as it is pretty fast burning.

If your post count is higher than your round count, you are a troll.

It may be good for 5.7x28 in a carbine app as well.

Don't wanna sell it, and I'm only interested in the calibers that I load and use mentioned above.

It should be good for 303 brit, 7.5 swiss and x54R. Use the hodgdon website for BL-C2 load data to start your work-ups.

For awhile, when the surplus powder prices were no better than canister, I was pretty down on buying it. Especially for less experienced reloaders who should stay with canister powders. But now any powder in hand is good.

But I think you are wrong about what you can use WC 846 for, while on the faster side, its still pretty versatile stuff. The issue is only that you won't have much guidance in loads for it so be cautious and if you are not well experienced in load development outside of published loads, get some experienced guidance.

This is why I'm asking, instead of experimenting. People say it's the same as BL-C2, and I see load data in my books for that in .30-06, but then people say WC-846 isn't for .30-06, and I scratch my head. And guys on the CMP forum say they use it, and others say no way. Maybe I'll just save it for .223's......
