    Default GoPro or No?

Assuming you had the extra $200-400 sitting about, would you buy a GoPro (Hero3 model)?

Got one. Yes. Get the silver if you already have an iPhone. The $100 difference between the black and the silver is that the black has a 12 mpix camera vs the 11 on the silver and it has a wireless remote. The silver has wifi and you can get the iPhone app to control it and see what it is recording.

I have a contour, grabbed it with Amazon points. It seems really cool in concept, but then you get it and it sort of isn't. IMHO.
I was recording all these mtb rides, I did a few on the velodrome to see how the banking would look - and you come home and don't really want to watch what you just did.

SO, Daniel Defense has a mount for their Omega Rails and I thought about that too, but I don't want to watch a video of a target. It isn't like it is getting you shooting AND the target, so I passed.

A few of the rafting places (I know Echo Canyon in CC for sure) have helmets with the waterproof mount. That'll be the last chance. Beyond that, I just don't know what to do with it other than shoot dog videos and the iphone is faster / easier for that.

    $0.02 / YMMV.

About 3 years ago, I saw a hunter magazine article about all the onboard camera review.
Instead of going gopro, I went with i-kam.

Good part about ikam is that it is just a sunglasses.
Bad part- crappy resolution. hard to turn on off, manipulate.

Conclusion: I would've went with gopro.

If I had more disposable income, I would get one. Along with several different mounts so I could hang it off my motorcycle, my ATV, and maybe a rifle or two.
