Default Any special technique for using a slide fire?

I cobbled together a homemade bumpfire stock (aka "slide fire") and finally got to test it out last weekend but for the life of me could not get it to actually bump fire. It fired normally just fine but whenever I applied forward pressure to the front rail I could never get my trigger finger to "float" enough to actually reset the trigger.

I'm ready to toss my prototype in the trash and put my regular parts back on, but if it's a simple technique issue, I'll try it again. Any tips?

Yes, bumpfiring is a waste of ammo, and I believe the slide-fire is an expensive gimmick (hence making my own), but I figured it'd still be interesting to try.

It will just take practice to get it right

You need something for your finger to rest on that is on the outside of the trigger area. I can imagine just trying to "float" your finger would be difficult.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

I think the 9mm kicks a bit more than the .223 in the platform which would probably make it easier. (Kinda how hip bumping an ak is easier.)

No need to post on Armslist. I'll buy it.

Tier 1 operators. Use that instead of Black Ops. Then add another 0 to your price.

That's what I was missing. Time to hack up some more MIAD back plates and mix up some more JB weld.

Glad I could help. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. I have about 2 1/4 hours to get something else right.
