Default Looking to purchase a POF-USA

    Hey Folks,

I have been checking out this POF-USA P415 for a few days now and I must admit that I like the looks of it but, outside of handling it at the shop, I have never had a chance to shoot one and I don't know a thing about them. Has anyone here had any experience with one of these?

A good friend of mine (who is also a member on here) has one and I've had the opportunity to handle it. They are nice AR's, gas-piston driven, chome-lined receiver with hard-chrome carriers. It ran great when I shot it, but recently he was shooting Tula .223 ammo through it and got a casing stuck in the chamber. The bolt release they put just above the magazine release is very stiff and I did not find it easy to manipulate. Well made rifle, great machining and definitely a quality gun, but personally, I think these rifles are over-priced. One thing I didn't like is once you start adding accessories, these rifles weigh A LOT.

I have both the 415 and the 308. You are more than welcome to try them out - just provide your own ammo

Thanks for the offer! I actually had the chance to shoot one of their .308's and I was very impressed with it's accuracy.

Tell me, have you been happy with the piston system? I have heard some mixed reviews on this system which is why I have been a bit hesitant to pick it up.

Not a POF owner but a piston AR one. I have the AA unit on one of the SBR's. Very happy with the overall function and less cleaning after shooting aspect. I like running a suppressor on it and minimal blow back makes it that much more enjoyable. Have a cmmg unit going on the spouses 11.5 ar with one of skullybones Comp's. The DI is tried n true i just wanted something different. All the AR's are or will be piston ones . Even have a Daewoo MAX II as well. Just sold off the SLR-106.

I have their 308 model. Less than 300 rounds through it, with no issues with the function. I did have issues with the rail system being slightly out of spec. My rear sight would not mount without play. The sight mounted on other rifles fine, and even mounted to the front of the rail fine. Their customer service was very responsive and helpful.

Based on my experience, I would be comfortable that if you did encounter issues they fix it without a lot of pain.
