I just know that in the general society that anyone that is under 50 years old, that even noticed the comment, probably said, yeah, he's right, we need to be safe, it doesn't matter if my phone records are collected, only bad guys need to worry about this.

We need to remove these progressive elitists from office and return control of schools to the states.

I have a feeling this is going to be in some famous book written by an infamous dictator one day.

Bread and circuses...that is where we are right now. The Romans went through the same thing with the Coliseum, then they fell.

I'll admit, back after 9/11 I was among those sorts (16 then). Now that I've grown up (well, grown older ), I have quite the different view.

Rome is burning, make no mistake... and unfortunately, those in D.C. (for the most part, there are very few exceptions), are in an ivory tower too tall to smell smoke.

The greatest failure is in ever thinking you can achieve 100% security. Those who say they can are liars or fools, those who believe them are children or dullards.

The criminals always know how to obfuscate their internet usage, telecommunications and text based messages and much of the encription that is available is strong enough to deter government access because it could take years to break it. The FBI utilized NSA computers for 3 years trying to break into an encrypted hard drive and were unable to do it. The government is not after the biggest bad guys, in fact those are who they do business with. The government wants to catch the low hanging fruit, the common citizen who commits minor infractions such as piracy or sharing of illegal CAD files.

But, mark my words, the next American revolution will be fought with a keyboard, because when it is time all the Hackers will be able to take control of the Drones, Crash the market, Turn off the power and make the fatcats starving in big cities beg the bread basket for provisions.
