Actually, it's been flourishing in SF for years. Just ask any upstanding fellow in the tenderloin, wearing a dog collar and ballgag.

    Mr Slave says so too.

In furtherance of the above, all this suit is doing is a money grab. They can't actually force the cake company to bake them cakes, they can just sue them each time they refuse. My biz law prof explained that the anti-slavery amendment is why you can't sue someone to perform an action, just sue them for monetary compensation.

    Oh really? Well my bad.

Exactly, just because you can't refuse them service, doesn't mean there are laws that dictate WHAT goes into the food. Sure, you could get in trouble if you laced ti with soemething dangerous, but putting too much salt in a cake would make it taste like shit and it would ruin their "big day".

Agreed. I hate the mentality that my generation (and younger) has. Its all gimme gimme gimme. I don't have to do anything to deserve it but gimme because I'm entitled to it.

I do wish the ACLU would get this uptight about people who want to exercise their second amendment rights. But alas, it's perfectly legal to refuse service to someone who carries.

That having been said: Does this bakery call the minister/pastor/priest of every heterosexual couple that comes in wanting a cake, to determine they are worthy? Have they saved themselves for marriage, or have they indulged - perhaps even been living together? Are they tithing the required 10%? Naturally, it would only bake cakes for first marriages. If the bakery is going to only bake cakes for couples who don't run afoul of their Christian values, one must assume that it at least hits the other high points in setting the bar. There's more to it than just homosexuality.

Has nobody ever told people that you DON'T piss off the people in charge of making your food?

THIS VERY THING is what opponents of gay marriage have been warning about and when they do, gay marriage supporters poo-poo the notion as tin-foil-hattery.

    This happens a lot:

    • Leftists propose X
    • Conservatives point out that X has side effect N
    • Leftists accuse conservatives of lunacy for thinking N could ever happen
    • X passes
    • FIRST THING leftists do is N.

The disgusting truth is that the leftists often don't actually care about X, they wanted N all along but could only get it passed by doing X.

We're dealing with devious people here.

"We were all very upset, but I was angry and I felt dehumanized and mortified," Mullins said.
Got it. The fact you're gay makes it more important and makes you special because your feelings were hurt. It's all about you and your little gay boyfriend because you have special beliefs. Fuck the rest of us...we don't get to have beliefs and values or feel "dehumanized and mortified" if forced to compromise those beliefs.

I tend to feel less and less sympathy for any special cause because of bullshit like this.

    Default Cake anyone?

I do not oppose gay civil unions.

With that being said this whole thing is bullshit and those two little queens are just whiny trouble making little bitches. The baker is just as entitled to having his own beliefs as the little gay boys are. If the baker doesn't want to make a gay wedding cake because he doesn't support gay marriage or gay civil unions then that is his right and they should have taken their business elsewhere without incident.

How much coverage do you think the news would give to someone who had a bakery refuse to make them a gun cake? I'll bet it has happened several times but we've never heard of it happening because the leftist media only supports their leftist agenda and could give 2 shits about honest and equal rights anymore.
